Heatwave to continue during weekend in Finland

The heatwave continued all over Finland and the scorching heat also to continue during the weekend, said the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI).

According to the forecast, the temperature likely to reach above 30 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country during the next three days.

Meanwhile, the FMI in a bulletin late Thursday night said that thunderstorm likely to blow over the northern and Eastern parts of the country along with rain on Friday.

The thunderstorms could be particularly severe in Southern Lapland.

In most of the parts of the country the weather will be hot and sunny during the next couple of days.

The weather in Lapland, however, likely to be cooler than other regions.

The weather at night will be also warm due to humidity and particularly in Eastern Finland the night time temperature will remain 20 degrees Celsius or above.

Rain and thunderstorms will also occur on Saturday, especially in Lapland, said the FMI.
